About Heather
I’ve always known I wanted to work with people—especially women. I love conversation, connection, and learning about the life experiences that shape who we are. For a long time, I thought nursing might be my path, inspired by my Grandma Bellefeuille. But life shifted when I became a single mom to my first daughter, Olivia, and I chose a different route—one that allowed me to support my family while still doing work rooted in care and connection.
Hair was always part of my world. My mom is a hairstylist, and I grew up in the salon she worked at—and eventually owned. It was there I learned how powerful this space can be. Over time, my clients became more than clients; they became friends, family, and a community that showed me it’s possible to build a meaningful career, be present in motherhood, and create a beautiful life all at once.
I spent ten loyal years at one salon location before realizing I needed to move on—not because I wanted to, but because it no longer felt aligned. Leaving was uncomfortable and humbling, especially with a strong, loyal client base. That leap taught me how to start over with courage and trust. Each phase of my career—from Edina, to Northeast Minneapolis, and back to Juut in Wayzata—required grit, growth, and relearning how to be the “new” person again. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Returning to Juut in Wayzata has been one of the best decisions of my career. I’m surrounded by a thoughtful, supportive team, and it reaffirmed everything I believe about longevity, balance, and doing work that truly matters.
When a client sits in my chair, I want them to feel comfortable, heard, and completely at ease. I want them to laugh, cry, talk it all out—or simply relax—knowing they’re safe and cared for. Every experience is customized and refined, because no one should ever feel like a number. My goal is simple: hair that fits real life, grows out beautifully, and feels effortless long after they leave the salon.
While trend-driven stylists do incredible work, my passion lies in color that lasts. Women carry so much—hair should be the last thing they worry about. I’m here to help with that.
My clients would describe me as loving, kind, thoughtful, honest, and real. I genuinely love connecting with women—talking about motherhood, work, relationships, reality tv, books, travel, and the everyday moments that shape our lives. The salon is a judgment-free space where we can simply be ourselves, and that’s something I hold close.
Motherhood in this season is full and complex. I’m raising a teenager and an almost eight-year-old, navigating busy schedules while also supporting my 13-year-old daughter through recovery from an eating disorder. It’s challenging and deeply meaningful, and it continues to shape how I show up with empathy and presence.
My marriage to Joe is a steady, honest partnership rooted in care and intention. We support one another, prioritize our girls, and make space to nurture both our family and our future together. It’s a relationship that quietly informs how I move through the world.
I created Heather Stark Studio as a place to gather it all—my thoughts, ideas, meaningful conversations, personal style, fashion, and hair. A space inspired by what we’re really talking about behind the chair.
At this stage of my life, I’m most interested in connection, gratitude, and sharing what I’ve learned—so women feel seen, supported, and confident exactly as they are.
